What are the functions of Potassium monopersulfate compound?

Potassium monopersulfate compound (Synonyms: potassium peroxymonosulfate) is a free-flowing, white granular solid, soluble in water. It is present as a component of a triple salt including potassium monopersulfate, potassium bisulfateand potassium sulfate with the formula among them  Potassium monopersulfate triple salt is a reagent for oxidative umpolung of alkali metal bromides, controlled epoxidation reactons, and desulfurization reactions for fluorescent chemosignaling. It is used as an oxidizing agent and as a terminal oxidant for bromolactonization of alkenoic acids.
Potassium peroxymonosulfate can be used in swimming pools to keep the water clear, thus allowing chlorine in pools to work to sanitize the water rather than clarify the water, resulting in less chlorine needed to keep pools clean. One of the drawbacks of using potassium peroxymonosulfate in pools is it can cause the common DPD #3 water test for combined chlorine to read incorrectly high.
